Do you remember (poem)

when we were at Gautami’s and

you drew Diwali candles in colored sand outside her door?

Inside I lay down on a marble bench

and listened to the waves of the Arabian Sea.

There I thought, "What if I knew

that I was already immortal?

If I knew that I was God?"

I bet I’d behave better.
